THE GREEN ALLIANCE: Environmental Advocacy and Business Ingenuity

The Green Alliance is a green business union and a community co-op focused on getting the consumer to think more about the environmental impact of the goods and services they are using on a daily basis. The GA provides transparent certification of green business leaders and accompanying branding and promotion. Our mission is to increase the profits of the businesses that are having the least impact on the environment and through business to business mentoring and strength in partnership, encourage more sustainable business practices. Regular GA BtoB meetings facilitate partnerships, relationships and referrals. GA Business Partners work together in a myriad of ways, from linking to each other's sites, to joint purchasing plans, to shared customer bases and bartering. The Green Alliance provides authentic green branding for all our green Business Partners; currently 68 sustainable entrepreneurs from Newburyport Ma to Portland Me. Much like a dedicated PR firm, the Green Alliance promotes and represents its Partnering Businesses through its website, (3,000+ hits monthly), newsletter on local business and the environment, (13,000 subscribers), media exposure and community involvement. The Green Alliance identifies the best green stories of each Business Partner and shares that knowledge with the public. We generate new and increased business for all of our members by raising the company profile and telling their stories in innovative and memorable ways. Our 60-question Sustainability Evaluation, Report Card and publish-ready Green Story provide full transparency to the public about the sustainable products and practices of each of our members. We provide the green branding but we also provide the hard facts about each business to validate and authenticate their "greenness".

But the Green Alliance isn't just for businesses. Individuals join the Green Alliance by purchasing a "Green Card" which gives them exclusive and substantial discounts at each green Business Partner. The "Green Card" costs only $35 a year while it provides the holder well over $2,000 in discounts at 68 local green businesses. Our Community Co-op and Green Card helps you go green and save money at the same time. So join us and support the greenest businesses in your own community! Learn more about the Green Alliance at www.greenalliance.biz or call GA Director Sarah Brown at 603-817-4694.
